Dear readers of SPRUNG

A word from the president on the new issue – and on the first bilingual one.

Editorial

Knowledge that reaches the city.

A university is at its best when its knowledge leaves the campus: on to rooftops, into clinics, into businesses. That idea is behind this issue of SPRUNG.

In our cover story “The city breathes easier” we show how researchers at Fernsee University are preparing our city for the heat – with sensors, measurement rides and ideas that are now being put into practice.

We also tell stories about health and artificial intelligence, about founders, and about a semester in Valencia. All of them are stories about people who pass on what they know.

And there is something new: SPRUNG is bilingual for the first time, in German and English. That means our international students and partners can read along too.

Enjoy the read!

Yours,

Prof. Dr. Lena Hartmann
